One More for my Show
It’s official. My art show will be at Borders, South Coast Plaza, Costa Mesa, CA on Tuesday, 1 August 2006. I will be there at 4pm. Come then or anytime for the rest of the evening…when you get off work, etc. I’ll be there probably until closing 10pm. My illustrations will be there for 3 months, so if you can’t make it Tuesday, you’ll have ample opportunity to stop by afterward.
Now if I can get it together to pay for the printing and framing all will be well in the world. I should create a Paypal Printing Donations for Stylegoddess account. Actually, come to think of it I should post my Amazon Wishlist on here too. Cuz you never know…
Here are the 4 seasons, which will be on display.

Good Damn News
I haven’t written a post in freaking FOREVER. Sorry about that. So now I actually have something of value to say. Or maybe a couple somethings.
For the first time ever I am self-employed. I no longer work for someone else. This is officially my third day owning and running my very own web design company. At the moment it’s called “Caffeine” and the url is caffeinewebdesign.net. I’m looking into a couple other domains as well, and getting the site done and up as fast as possible.
Additionally, my art show that most/all of you already know about is August 1st. I’m supposed to have EVERYTHING ready today. Riiiiiight. I’m close, though. I have a few more to knock out. I guess I should post some here, since It’s been a while and I’ve done lots of new work recently. I’ll put one at the bottom of this post, k?
Third piece of excitement. Yes, it comes in PIECES. I went to Vloggercon in SF. That link shows all the amazingness that was that conference. I met such amazing people and learned a TON. And of course I came back with the best tshirts EVER, like a G4 show shirt for a brand new show called “Torrent”. I like that because like NOONE has a torrent shirt so my cool points are higher than EVER when I wear it. This weekend I’m going BACK to SF for Barcamp. So I expect to learn even more about the interweb and hang out with lots of awesome people, and most likely run into some people I already know from the LAST conference. Ok more soon… XO erica
Yeah I’m Big in Bombay
in the presence of GREATNESS
today was extremely special for me because i got to hang out with eddie codel, producer extraordinaire of geekentertainment.tv and just an extremely awesome and fun dude, and eric rice, self-made rockstar and co-founder of Hipcast. that is seriously the abridged version of what those two do, but if you want more go study their blogs, eddie’s and eric’s, and become a fan. you should already be anyway.
we went to barney’s beanery where eddie discovered that marinara sauce tastes just fine with a splash of coffee in it. then off to the rockstar hotel where they’re staying where i did my first-ever video podcast interview for GETV!! (note: i hate bold text but it had to be done.) i was awful and everyone knew it, but they were so cool about it and if they had 1/10th the fun i did then it was a great day all around.
soon this——> will be my friend. for now i shall practice interviewing all my friends, roommates and coworkers with pens, hairbrushes and chopsticks.
thanks again to eddie, who made this awesome day possible and to eric for humoring me and participating.
love, the stylegoddess. xo
Update!!!!
The art show went great. A woman wants one of my paintings, and wants emails when I do something new so she can have advance notice and buy them before anyone else does!!!
A really SWELL result of all this is when I went to pick up two of the pieces from the framer she was telling me that she’s the person who organizes/arranges all the art shows that they have at Borders in South Coast Plaza. She said if I can get together about 19 more similar in style to “Almost Nude” she will give me a show. So there it is…my very first show all MINE. I’ll keep you posted of the date. Will probably be in about 3 months. I’d love to see all of you there. XO

Spring
This post has zero to do with geek OR with fashion. I just happen to have become recently addicted to THIS awesome site. I call it the Iron Chef of Illustration. They come up with the theme and you do an illustration based on the theme. So minus the 1 hour time limit and crazy factions rooting for the other guy and critical judges, it’s just like Iron Chef.
So this week’s theme was Spring and here’s my contribution.
one man’s monster…
makeovers of models who look perfect first thing in the morning with no makeup? where’s the challenge in that? monster makeovers is where it’s at. reach new levels of awesome…
Nude with Socks
Always in style…
Hipster with Scarf
I did this using about as many different Corel Painter IX effects as I could. Good times…
Microsoft people and Linux people
Marketing is my obsession.
I haven’t slept more than a few hours in days and days. All I can do when I’m not at work is study web-related marketing tools, plugins, strategies and read my favorite marketing-related blogs. The plan is to somehow absorb years of others’ study and research in…oh…a week or so. It’s insane, my eyes are sore, and it’s truly an impossible task. But I continue to get smarter, so I’m sure I’m on the right track. I will catch up to my heroes…eventually.
Meanwhile…here’s my most recent bleary-eyed self-portrait from about 20 minutes ago.
